Privacy policy
Last updated: May 2026
Roofing Claim Guide ("we", "us") respects the privacy of every visitor. This page describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. This policy is a starting template; your specific tracking setup, cookies, and third-party integrations may require additional disclosures. Have your legal counsel review before launch.
Data we collect
- Analytics data. Aggregated, anonymized page views, referrers, devices, and browser metadata via Google Analytics 4. No personally identifiable information is collected by default.
- Phone call routing. When you call the phone number on this site, the call is routed through a call-tracking provider. The provider captures the inbound number, call duration, and timestamp. This information is used to attribute referral activity.
- Reader submissions. If you email the team, your email address and message contents are stored only as long as needed to respond. We do not subscribe email senders to any list.
How we use the data
Analytics data informs editorial decisions (which topics need more coverage) and site improvements. Call data is used to attribute referral activity to the roofing contractors in our network. The full revenue-vs-editorial separation is documented in our research methodology.
We do not sell visitor data. We do not run retargeting pixels. We do not share analytics data with advertisers. The full list of content we will not publish (including sponsored placements and reader-data resale) is enumerated in our editorial policy.
Cookies
The site uses cookies set by Google Analytics for visitor measurement. Most browsers allow you to disable cookies or block specific domains in settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect site functionality.
Third-party services
The site integrates with Google Analytics 4 (analytics) and may include DNS prefetch hints for Google Tag Manager. The call-tracking provider processes inbound phone calls. Each third party operates under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
If you are in a jurisdiction with data protection rights (California residents under CCPA/CPRA, EU residents under GDPR, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Reach out via the contact page with such requests; we respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
